PRESS RELEASE
Treasurer Fitzpatrick Recognizes Small Business Week 2022

Jefferson City, MO – Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick
today recognized Small Business Week and the contributions of Missouri’s small
business owners to the state’s economy and their communities. “Small businesses play a vital
role in Missouri’s economy. As a business owner, I know the dedication and hard
work it takes to build and run a successful company,” Treasurer Fitzpatrick
said. “While inflation rages and interest rates continue to rise, Missouri
FIRST, the state’s linked deposit program, can help businesses improve cash
flow and provide much needed capital for a variety of uses at a reduced interest
rate. I believe in Missourians, and I am happy to be able to provide the
benefits Missouri FIRST offers to the small businesses in our state.” The Treasurer’s Office supports
Missouri small business through Missouri FIRST, the state’s linked deposit
program. Linked deposits partner the Treasurer’s Office with Missouri lenders
to provide low-interest loans to qualifying small businesses. The program
allows the borrower to save, on average, 30% on interest expenses. More
information on Missouri FIRST can be found at https://treasurer.mo.gov/content/low-interest-loans/. Small Business Week recognizes
the important contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners across
the country. It runs from May 2-5, 2022. ### Follow the Treasurer’s Office on Twitter,
