IMPORTANT UPDATE

Treasurer Malek is pleased to announce upcoming changes to the MOScholars program.

Earlier this year, Governor Parson signed Senate Bill 727 into law, increasing the funding limit and expanding access to Missouri’s Empowerment Scholarship Accounts program, also known as the MOScholars program. Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek, a strong proponent of education, looks forward to providing the program’s benefits to parents and students statewide. The State Treasurer’s Office is currently preparing the MOScholars expansion to be available for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. Parents who are interested in receiving more information about the 2025-2026 school year application cycle should check the State Treasurer’s Office website and social media pages in the coming weeks and months for updates.

In 2021, the Missouri General Assembly passed HB349 and SB86 which established the Missouri Empowerment Scholarship Accounts Program, MOScholars. The law provides state tax credits for contributions to approved, non-profit Educational Assistance Organizations (EAOs). These EAOs use the contributions to award scholarships to Missouri students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and students living in low-income households.
