William Edmond Robinson
38th State Treasurer: 1969-1973
William E. Robinson (Democrat), the 38th State Treasurer, was born in St. Francois County, Mo., on June 1, 1920. He attended the Boone Terre public
schools and Central Methodist College, in Fayette.
Before his election as state treasurer in 1968, he was president and member of the board of directors of Frontier-Tower Life Insurance Company in
Jefferson City. He was secretary-treasurer and managing officer of the Bonne Terre Savings and Loan Association and served as chairman of the board
of the Missouri Savings and Loan League. His salary as state treasurer was $20,000 per year.
He married Angie LeClare. Mr. Robinson died on Oct. 16, 1992.
