April 1, 2025 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – In observance of National ABLE to Save Month, Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek is announcing a $25 match for new Missouri Achieving a Better Life Experience (MO ABLE) account holders. MO ABLE, a savings program dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve financial independence and security, marks its 8-year anniversary on April 24. MO ABLE has more than 4,300 active accounts with assets totaling over $49 million. As of March 2025, the average account balance is over $11,000. “This anniversary marks another milestone in MO ABLE’s success, as it continues to financially empower thousands of individuals with disabilities across the state,” said Treasurer Malek. “As program continues to grow, I encourage Missourians take full advantage of the opportunity in April to stretch their savings even further.” Currently, individuals with disabilities are eligible to open a MO ABLE account if their disability onset occurred before age 26.
