Treasurer Vivek Malek Announces New Staff Appointments in the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office

JEFFERSON CITY, MO — Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek announces the recent appointment of new staff members in the Treasurer’s Office.
“I am pleased to welcome Trent and Nathan to their new roles with the Treasurer’s Office,” said Treasurer Malek. “Their combined experience will help my office continue to put Missourians first, and they will be tremendous assets in these roles.”
Trent Blair – Chief of Staff
Blair previously served as Director of Programs and Deputy Chief of Staff for the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office. He has over 25 years of experience in project management, solution design, and service implementation within government and private sector organizations. As a former Active Duty and Air Force Reserve Officer, he has previous state government experience as Operations Director for the Missouri Senate and Division Director, Facilities Management, Design and Construction within the Office of Administration. Blair has been serving in his role as Chief of Staff for almost a month, officially taking over on July 11, 2026.
Nathan Coatney – Legislative Director
Coatney brings a background in Missouri state government and political affairs. He previously served as Legislative Assistant to Missouri House Majority Leader Alex Riley and State Senator Curtis Trent, as well as Deputy Political Director for the Missouri Republican Party. Over the past four years, he has also worked on political campaigns across Missouri, including races for the Missouri House of Representatives, Missouri Senate, and statewide offices. A graduate of Willard High School, Coatney began his career in sales, where he developed the communication and leadership skills that helped prepare him for public service. He remains active in civic engagement as President of the Southwest Missouri Young Republicans, Vice Chair of the Missouri Young Republicans, and an active volunteer at his local parish.
