Treasurer Fitzpatrick Recognizes Small Business Week
Jefferson City, MO – Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick
today recognized Small Business Week and the contributions of Missouri’s small
business owners to the state’s economy and their communities. “As a business owner, I
understand the hard work, sacrifice, and passion that goes into starting and
building a business,” Treasurer Fitzpatrick said. “Over the past year,
Missouri’s small businesses have weathered challenges and found creative
solutions to keep their doors open and continue serving customers. I am happy
to recognize their hard work and share a few small business stories this week.”
Throughout the week, Treasurer
Fitzpatrick will highlight Missouri small businesses, their stories, and
community contributions, across the official social media platforms. Featured

Missouri small business through Missouri FIRST, the state’s linked deposit
program. Linked deposits partner the Treasurer’s Office with Missouri lenders
to provide low-interest loans to qualifying small businesses. The program
allows the borrower to save, on average, 30% on interest. More information on

the important contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners across
the country. Nationally, more than half of Americans either work for or own a
small business—and small business owners create two out of three American jobs.
