Treasurer Fitzpatrick Issues a Consumer Alert Related to Unclaimed Funds Held by The Wind Down Estates
Jefferson City, MO—Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick today
issued a consumer alert to Missourians who have a loan previously originated,
serviced, or sub-serviced by Ditech Financial LLC and/or any of its affiliates
included in Wind Down Estates. A recent order in the United States Bankruptcy
Court for the Southern District of New York requires Ditech/Wind Down Estates
to establish procedures for returning unclaimed borrower funds. The Wind Down Estates currently
hold certain unclaimed funds that correspond to amounts of checks previously
drawn and sent to Borrowers on account of loan overpayments, which remain
uncashed or unclaimed. The deadline to request a return of these funds is July 11, 2021
at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Requests can be made at UnclaimedProperty.Ditech.com.
