Treasurer Fitzpatrick Announces MO ABLE Partnership with CoxHealth
Springfield, MO – Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick today
announced a new partnership with CoxHealth and the MO ABLE program. In the
coming months, CoxHealth employees will be able to use automated deposits from
their pay checks directly into their MO ABLE accounts. Speaking to nearly 600 CoxHealth
employees at the health system’s Leadership Development Institute, Treasurer
Fitzpatrick emphasized that these direct deposits make it easier for CoxHealth
employees with disabilities to use the program and help parents of children
with disabilities save for their child’s future. “Saving money has always been
difficult for people with disabilities and their families because of federal
regulations that limited assets and jeopardized benefit eligibility,” Treasurer
Fitzpatrick said. “As one of the largest employers in southwest Missouri, I am
glad to see CoxHealth removing time-consuming hoops so that their employees can
more easily save for the future and use the valuable benefits of MO ABLE.” “We are honored to be the first
organization in Missouri to partner with the Treasurer’s Office on this initiative,”
says Andy Hedgpeth, vice president of Human Resources at CoxHealth. “MO ABLE is
a great program for those who need it. It’s very exciting to have this
partnership, and help offer this extra support to our employees.” Today’s announcement is part of
Treasurer Fitzpatrick’s commitment to encouraging Missourians to save for their
future as part of Financial Literacy Month. MO ABLE allows people with
disabilities and their families to save up to $15,000 per year, tax-free,
without losing federal benefits. April is the two-year anniversary of the
program’s launch. For more information
