JEFFERSON CITY, MO – Missouri State Treasurer Vivek Malek recently toured businesses in Potosi and Leadington, Missouri, highlighting borrowers who leveraged local banking partnerships through the state’s MOBUCK$ program. During the 2023–2024 program year, Belgrade State Bank and First State Community Bank were recognized among the program’s Top 20 lending institutions. As part of the tour, Treasurer Malek visited Twin Eagle Lake Estate & Hideout in Washington County, where owners Tyler and Jennifer Juliette shared how MOBUCK$ financing helped them move forward with significant property improvements.
“MOBUCK$ is about more than numbers. It is about relationships,” said Treasurer Malek. “When our partnering banks work with business owners, they are not just providing capital. They are listening, advising, and investing in people. That trust is what makes this program successful.”
Treasurer Malek also toured Dunn Holdings Properties in Leadington, where owners Matthew and Bendi Dunn used the program to develop a 79-unit affordable housing complex. Through MOBUCK$, the Dunns reduced operating costs, strengthening the long-term sustainability of their project and affordable housing in the area.
“When we support small businesses and strengthen local economies, we are keeping the American Dream alive in our communities,” Malek added. “As Treasurer, I remain committed to growing the MOBUCK$ program and recognizing the banking partners and local leaders who make success stories like these possible.”
About the MOBUCK$ Program
MOBUCK$ is part of the Missouri State Treasurer’s Linked Deposit Program, which supports small businesses, agricultural operations, and governmental entities across Missouri. Through partnerships with qualified lenders, the program provides low-interest loans that help expand economic opportunity statewide. By reducing interest rates by approximately 2–3 percent, MOBUCK$ helps borrowers lower financing costs.
“This program isn’t just about numbers. It is about supporting families, preserving traditions, and strengthening rural communities,” said Treasurer Malek. “We encourage eligible applicants to apply during open enrollment periods.”
